Set in Ancient Greece around 1200 BC, the story begins when the Queen Alcmene (Roxanne McKee) succumbs to the will of the god Zeus. She gives birth to Hercules, a son prophesied to overthrow the tyrannical rule of King Amphitryon (Scott Adkins) and bring peace to the land. Years later, when Hercules' true love, Princess Hebe (Gaia Weiss), is betrothed to his weaker, older brother Iphicles (Liam Garrigan), the jealous King Amphitryon banishes Hercules to Egypt, sending him on a hopeless suicide mission. The film follows his journey as he is sold into slavery, forced to fight as a gladiator, and ultimately leads a revolt to reclaim his birthright and destiny.
